Hives , an allergic skin disorder, are raised round flat lesions that are red or pink in color. Itchy and warm to the touch, hives can range in size from 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter or sometimes even larger. More severe hives, called angiodema, tend to be much larger and are linked to each other, forming a large mass; they also penetrate much deeper into the skin.
